Scientists and engineers at the Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley have a long tradition of world class discovery, innovation, and education.

The Berkeley Lab Academy for Science Teaching and Learning will provide access to the dynamic resources at Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley for K-12 students and teachers.

  • Educating K-12 students using real science and engineering tools to solve complex problems connected to 21st century scientific frontiers and technological advances.

  • Transforming teachers to scientists and engineers.

  • Utilizing technology for worldwide open access for teaching and learning.

  • Partnerships with school districts and informal science education centers.

The Global Teachers' Academy represents a 21st century model for international cosmology education, providing a network of educators and scientists teaching mathematics, engineering, and science through cosmology. The GTA will provide evaluations and reports on effective and innovative instruction, learning, and outreach through cosmology education.
