Large Hadron Collider and the Higgs Particle

Lauren Tompkins - Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider

In this presentation Lauren talked about the connections between cosmology and particle physics and then explained the relevance of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and how ATLAS, one of the LHC experiments, uses different technologies to investigate the fundamental structure of matter.

Cal Teach Group Investigation - Acceleration of Gravity with Hee-Jong Jang

Vernier Logger Pro Program was used to teach students how to graph objects and find the acceleration caused by gravity. The students made short videos of themselves throwing balls back and forth. The videos were imported into Vernier where the data was graphically analyzed to determine the value of g (gravity) on earth.

Cal Teach assistant Hee-Jong Jang discusses the effect of gravity on earth and on other planets
